We gather to celebrate the 65th birthday of our friend and colleague, Professor Vladimir Kadets, who has made profound and lasting contributions to the theory of Banach spaces and functional analysis.
Vladimir’s distinguished career began with his early solution of a classical problem from the Scottish Book, and has since shaped several areas of the field, including the study of series in Banach spaces, the Daugavet property, and the geometry of norm-attaining functionals. His influential monographs, co-authored with leading mathematicians from Ukraine, Spain, and beyond, have become standard references in the subject.
Beyond his research, Vladimir has played a central role as a mentor, supervising numerous doctoral students and fostering an international network of collaboration that spans Europe, Israel, the United States, and Asia. His work is widely recognized for its depth, originality, and enduring impact on modern functional analysis.
